Welcome to Remindly ("we", "our", or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any information associated with your use of our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect and Store
Remindly is designed with privacy at its core:
- Reminder & Task Data: All your reminders, notes, dates, and times are stored locally on your device using a local SQLite database. We do not transmit, sync, or store your reminders on external servers.
- Device Settings & Preferences: App preferences (such as theme and notification options) are saved locally on your device.
2. Device Permissions Used
To provide core reminder and alarm functionality, the app requests the following Android permissions:
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used solely to display your scheduled reminder alerts and notifications.
- Exact Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM): Required to ring reminders and trigger notifications at the exact scheduled minute.
- Boot Completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Ensures your scheduled reminders are automatically restored whenever you restart your device.
- Vibration & Wake Lock: Used to alert you and turn on the screen briefly when a scheduled alarm rings.
3. Third-Party Services
The app may use third-party libraries that collect anonymous technical data for ads and payments:
- Google AdMob: May collect anonymous identifiers (such as Advertising ID), crash logs, and general diagnostic information to serve personalized or non-personalized advertisements. Please review Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Play In-App Billing: Handles in-app purchases securely through your Google Play account. Remindly does not receive or store your credit card or financial credentials.
4. Data Retention and Security
Since your reminders are stored locally on your device, you have complete control over your data. If you clear the app's cache/storage or uninstall the application, all locally saved reminders will be permanently deleted.
5. Children's Privacy
Remindly does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
